Planning your family photoshoot in Madrid – Everything you need to know

Professionally edited high resolution JPG images, carefully selected and edited by me in my signature natural style, capturing your family in an honest and emotional way.

Two weeks turnaround time for your family photoshoot in Madrid. Your gallery will be delivered online via WeTransfer or similar. If you’d like to receive your gallery within 24 hours, the extra cost is 70€.

You will be able to choose your favorite images. I often edit more photos than the number included in your package, and you will select the ones you want to keep. If you prefer to keep the full gallery, there is a small additional cost and you will receive all the edited images.

Full printing and personal use rights for your family photos.

Madrid offers many beautiful locations for family sessions, from green parks like El Retiro or Parque del Oeste to quiet gardens or even your own home. The best place really depends on your family and the kind of atmosphere you’re looking for. I’ll help you choose a spot where your kids feel comfortable and free to move.

What if we feel camera-shy during the session?

It’s completely normal to feel a bit nervous before your family photoshoot. Many parents worry about not knowing what to do, or how their kids will behave in front of the camera.

My approach is very relaxed and natural. I gently guide you when needed, but there’s no posing or pressure. Your kids are free to play, move and be themselves while you simply enjoy time together as a family.

After the first few minutes, everything starts to feel much more natural. Most families end up forgetting I’m even there, just focusing on their kids and sharing real moments while I capture what’s truly happening.

Even if you feel a bit camera shy or things feel a little chaotic, that’s perfectly okay. Your photos will reflect your family as you are, in an honest, natural and beautiful way.

What is the best time of year for a family session?

It really depends on what you’re looking for, as each season offers a different atmosphere for your family photoshoot.

Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year. The colors are beautiful, the light is soft and the city feels calmer, which makes everything more relaxed for you and your kids.

Spring is also a lovely season, with blooming flowers and vibrant parks like El Retiro. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a fresh, lively feel, although if you have allergies, some days can be a bit intense.

Summer in Madrid can be quite hot, especially from 10–11 am onwards, so early mornings are the best option. The light is beautiful and temperatures are much more comfortable for children if we start early.

Winter has a more minimal, calm atmosphere, with fewer people around, which can be great for a quieter session. However, it can feel a bit cold, especially for very young children, so it’s something to keep in mind.

No matter the season, I’ll help you choose the best timing for your family photoshoot in Madrid based on light, crowds and your kids’ comfort.

Why should we do a family photoshoot?

Because time moves so quickly, and these everyday moments don’t stay the same for long. The way your kids laugh, play or hold your hand will change before you even realize. A family session is a way to pause and keep those memories exactly as they are today, so you can come back to them in the future and feel it all over again.

What if my kids don’t cooperate during the session?

That’s completely normal, and you don’t need to worry at all. I don’t expect children to pose or behave in a certain way. Instead, I follow their rhythm and turn everything into a playful experience, so they feel free and enjoy the moment while I capture what’s really happening.

What should we wear for a family photoshoot?

I recommend neutral, soft tones and comfortable outfits that allow you to move, sit on the floor or play with your kids easily. The goal is not to look “perfect”, but to feel like yourselves, so the photos reflect your real connection and not something forced.

In general, I suggest choosing similar tones as a family and avoiding strong patterns like stripes, bright colors or bold prints. It also depends on the season. In autumn, terracotta and warm orange tones look beautiful. In spring, I love whites, soft pinks, warm neutrals, lilacs and beige.

I also recommend avoiding black, as it can feel a bit heavy in photos, especially for children. You can go for a more casual, relaxed look or something slightly more dressed up, like long dresses, shirts or blouses, whatever feels most like you.

Do you offer newborn photoshoots?

Yes, I do, but always in a very natural and relaxed way, usually at your home, where everything feels more comfortable for you and your baby.

My approach is not about posed setups or placing babies in props. Instead, I focus on capturing your first days together as they really are, the quiet moments, the cuddles, feeding, lying on the bed, or simply being together as a family. Those little gestures and connections that you’ll want to remember forever.

It’s about creating honest, emotional memories of a stage that goes by so quickly. If this is the kind of session you’re looking for, I’d love to be your photographer. If you prefer a more styled or posed studio session, I’d recommend choosing someone specialized in that.
